\"EuroHPC<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking<\/a> is a joint initiative of the European Commission, of which Portugal is a member. EuroHPC participates in the co-financing of resources and promotes their sharing among member states. The FCT participates in the EuroHPC management bodies representing Portugal, alongside other European member states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"PRACE<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe<\/a> promotes collaboration and the use of high-performance computing (HPC) at European level. Participation in PRACE is ensured by University of Coimbra<\/a> which is part of the RNCA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"EGI<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The Federation European Grid Initiative (EGI) <\/a>is an international electronic infrastructure created to provide advanced computing and data analysis services for publicly funded research and innovation, comprising hundreds of data centers and clouds spread across the world. Participation in the EGI is ensured by LIP<\/a> which is part of the RNCA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November 2018 a memorandum of understanding was established between the Government of the Portuguese Republic<\/a> and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain to create the Iberian Advanced Computing Network, which includes the RES and the BSC as well as the CNCA<\/a> and the Deucalion<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
