HPCvLAB @ RNCA – Pilot Project
Held between May and December 2024
Virtual HPC Laboratory @ RNCA Competence Centers
The HPC Virtual Laboratory – HPCvLAB – provides Competence Centers with a package of HPC computing resources for training potential future users and thus developing their skills and mission within the scope of the RNCA and/or EuroCC2 project.
This pilot project uses resources from the INCD and Deucalion operational centers (as soon as they become available).
Five competence centers in Vila Real, Aveiro, Covilhã, Lisbon, and Faro are partners in this initiative. Interested parties should contact one of these centers and request free access to HPC resources, receiving the necessary support to learn how to use and benefit from these resources. This initiative is aligned with the mission of the RNCA and the EuroCC2 project.
Duration: Pilot Project scheduled until December 31, 2024.
Associated resources: An initial allocation of 300,000 CPU core hours or equivalent, with 10 TB of disk space, will be made for each competency center. Each user will be allocated a portion of these resources.
Objectives and recipients of HPCvLAB :
- Support users with no prior HPC experience.
- Test HPC tools in pilot projects in the industry and public administration sectors in your region, aligned with the objectives of the EuroCC2 project.
- Support professors in master's and doctoral courses taught at HEIs in Portugal who request resources to test HPC.
- Promote other objectives of the RNCA or EuroCC2 project, such as HPC training for industrial partners in your region.
Support and train new HPC users through RNCA Competence Centers.
