HPCvLAB @ Deucalion and CNCA
Virtual HPC lab
The High Performance Computing Virtual Laboratory - HPCvLAB - provides a package of HPC computing resources for training potential future users to develop their skills and experience. Deucalion and CNCA resources are used in this initiative.
Interested parties should contact computacao-avancada@fccn.pt and request free access to HPC resources, with the necessary support to learn how to use and take advantage of these resources. This initiative is in line with the mission of FCCN's Advanced Computing Services - FCT Digital Services, with the CNCA and also with the EuroCC2 project.
How does it work? Each HPCvLAB receives an initial grant of resources, a "sandbox" with 100,000 CPU core.hours or equivalent, 1000 GPU.hours and 10 TB disk on an HPC platform. Each HPCvLAB appoints a quota manager and users. Each user will have a share of these resources.
Easy access to HPC resources:

Objectives and recipients of the HPCvLAB:
- Support users with no previous HPC experience.
- Test HPC tools in pilot projects in the industry and public administration sectors in your region, in line with the objectives of the EuroCC2 project.
- Support professors in master's and doctoral courses taught at HEIs in Portugal who request resources to test HPC.
- Promote other objectives of the CNCA or EuroCC2 project, such as HPC training for industrial partners in your region.
